Special Annoucement from DreamQuest Software
President Christopher Williamson
As most of you know, DreamQuest Software is the clear leader in creating challenging games with the best 'bots' in the business, as well as the best card games available for mobile devices. We have offered online play for years, but since we haven't given it our full attention our online community has never really grown. DreamQuest wants to change that, and start offering a more competitive gaming site for serious players that still want the fast gameplay and customization only our Championship Pro card games can provide.
About 2 months ago, we sent a survey to all players asking what about online play they found most confusing and what areas they felt we were not competitive in. We have taken this feedback and have recently started making changes, trying to discourage cheating and rating manipulation, and to bring our system more in line with generally accepted practice. We regret that we did not communicate the changes to you as well as we could have, or test as thoroughly as we should have.
Our 'new site' will be the 6.0 release of our games and will offer major improvements specifically targeted at the online player. We will have several Beta releases (5.5 and up) of the new site, so we can flesh out any problems before going 'live'. The 'old site' will be fully operational throughout this period, so you can continue to play while we complete the new site. When the new site is fully tested and live, the old site will be brought down, and all players will be required to upgrade to the new site in order to play online. Best of all, UPGRADES WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE!
As we make these major revisions and start bringing more players, leagues, and tournaments over to our site, our community will grow dramatically. This is a good thing since it will allow you, the player, to find a good game at any time. We hope you choose to encourage our efforts and welcome new players to our site. Since DreamQuest only charges a one-time fee for our software, keeping a steady stream of NEW players is absolutely necessary for us to keep the site operational and continue improving the games and site. One of the major changes we will be adding on the new site is the addition of 'Guides' who will be available to welcome new players, resolve problems, and generally help build our online community. If you are interested in joining this friendly group of players, please see our new Guide page at http://dqsoft.com/guides/guides.html and fill out an application.
Unfortunately as our site has grown, it has become clear that we need to crack down on players who are abusive to other players and are not welcoming new visitors to our site. We want players to have a fun, positive experience on our site. For those few players who choose to jeopardize that, they have been warned. We have posted a 'Terms of Service' which all players will see with the latest 5.40 upgrade that describes what is acceptable behavior and what is not. If these players continue to violate the rules after agreeing to our 'Terms of Service', DreamQuest will be forced to take action. We have been very lax on our site until now, but as it grows, we must keep the site a fun place for ALL players to enjoy.
In closing, we have now set up an online forum, in an effort to make it easier for you to offer us suggestions about improvements or alternatives, and discuss other topics of shared interest. If you have suggestions you would like to see incorporated into the new site, we encourage you to post them on our new forum at http://dqsoft.com/forums.html We look forward to your feedback and thank you for your continued support of DreamQuest as we grow our site.
New Online Lobby Artwork Take a look at this! Our lobby is getting more than just a regular old facelift. It's bright new buttons and colorful interface will be sure to ease new players into our online community. Everything is clearer and more defined. We want to know what you think of this, too! Send us an email at with your comments or suggestion.
New Character Artwork We just can't wait until the official 6.0 release to share with you the new characters we have been working on. The only problem is, there are too many! We need your help to narrow down the choices. Take a few moments to look at each and let us know your thoughts by using the selections next to the characters. When you're done, just click on the SUBMIT button down at the bottom. Have fun! If you feel you have a better name for one of the characters or any specific comments, you can include that in the blank at the end. Thanks for your feedback!
